Grade 7 titanium coil welding and heat treatment
(1) Welding. Welded by argon arc welding. Welding pools and heat affected zones >400°C are protected from gas contamination in the air. Cylindrical blanks are welded with argon protection by using upper and lower protective boxes. Clean the surface of the welding groove before welding.
(2) Heat treatment. Stress relief annealing treatment can eliminate the internal stress of GR11 material during welding and avoid cracking during hydroforming. Annealing can also reduce the strength of the material and improve the plasticity of the material. In order to reduce the contamination of various gases on the surface of Grade 7 titanium coil during heat treatment, the lower limit temperature was selected for annealing, and anti-oxidation paint was applied on the surface of the billet.
